ARC Raiders Matriarch Trial Preparation Guide For U4N
The Matriarch fight can become chaotic quickly, especially when several Raiders arrive at the same location. A good loadout needs to do more than produce damage. It should help you move safely, maintain enough healing to survive incoming attacks, and give your squad a way to react when another team enters the area. Your ARC Raiders BluePrints progression may open up different equipment choices, but preparation still matters more than simply bringing expensive gear.
For players working through Trials, ARC Raiders BluePrints can be part of the wider progression picture, while the immediate priority is putting together a practical boss build. The right choice depends on whether you are playing solo, running with friends, or specifically trying to push your damage score as high as possible.
Focus On The Matriarch's Weak Points
The Matriarch rewards players who understand where to place their damage. Instead of firing randomly into heavily protected areas, coordinate your attacks around vulnerable sections of the boss.
A three-player squad can make this much easier. Two players can concentrate on the Matriarch while the third watches for other Raiders. This prevents the entire team from becoming focused on the boss and missing an approaching threat.
Heavy rifles can be useful for maintaining pressure. Weapons such as the Hullcracker or Jupiter give players options for sustained fire, while Anvil rocket launchers can provide stronger bursts when the team has a clear opening.
Build A Dedicated Heavy Loadout
Heavy ammunition should be planned before entering the encounter. Depending on your weapon choices and expected fight length, having around 250 to 400 rounds available can provide a comfortable reserve.
That does not mean every player needs to carry exactly the same amount. The team should divide ammunition according to its weapons and responsibilities.
Players using lighter weapons can save inventory space for healing and utility, while the main heavy weapon users carry more ammunition. This keeps the squad flexible without making everyone sacrifice useful equipment.
Keep Mobility In Your Setup
The Snap Hook is particularly useful when mobility becomes a problem. It can help you move around dangerous areas and reach better positions without spending too much time exposed on the ground.
This is also valuable when you need to disengage. Boss fights rarely remain static, and a position that feels safe at the start can become dangerous after several attacks or an enemy squad's arrival.
Rather than committing to one firing position, treat movement as part of your damage strategy.
Protect Yourself From Third Parties
The biggest threat may not always be the Matriarch. Other Raiders know that boss fights create noise, consume ammunition, and leave teams with reduced health.
Barricades can help limit the angles around your position. Mines can also discourage a direct push through a predictable route.
A dedicated lookout makes an even bigger difference. One teammate equipped with binoculars and a sniper can monitor the perimeter while the other two players concentrate on the boss.
Solo Players Need A Different Approach
A solo Trial attempt should focus on consistency rather than trying to imitate a coordinated squad. An Osprey and Pharaoh at Level 4 can be useful options, while a Stitcher with an Extended Light Mag 2 provides another affordable setup.
For a Matriarch, a basic Ferro can allow you to attack from a safer distance. Combine that with a Medium Shield, Shield Recharges, and several Bandages so that one unexpected attack does not immediately end the run.
An Adrenaline Shot can help you reach your preferred position early, while Barricade Kits give you additional protection during the encounter.
Leave Once The Score Is Enough
Trial runs often fail because players stay after accomplishing the main objective. If you already have the required damage score, continuing to fight for a little more damage can expose you to unnecessary risk.
A planned extraction route is therefore part of the loadout. Hatch Keys or a Raider Hat's Key can provide additional options when the area becomes crowded.
The goal is not to prove that you can stay in the boss arena forever. The goal is to complete the Trial and get out with your inventory intact.
Build Around The Run
For players who need a practical selection of ARC Items, the most useful approach is to build the inventory around the exact purpose of the run. Damage-focused squads can invest more heavily in explosives and ammunition, while solo players may benefit from cheaper weapons, healing, mobility, and defensive tools. Once the objective is clear, the Matriarch encounter becomes much easier to plan without carrying unnecessary gear.
