He didn't return to the lineup until Week 16. During that time, Palczewski filled in quite well for him and that led to the idea that Powers may be seen as expendable. Cutting Powers with a post-Hune 1st designation would have saved the Broncos $12.7 million against the salary cap and been a net gain of about $7.3 million once the dead money hit was figured in. That was a move that made sense for the team, but the Broncos clearly appreciate the consistency of this particular group along the offensive line and don't want to shake that up. Powers will be entering his fifth year with the Broncos in 2026 and will still have two years remaining on his deal following this coming season. To his credit, he had never mi sed a start for the team until that Week 5 injury.
