Use those resources as your foundation, then reinforce them with practical architecture exercises.

Build Your Own Architecture Scenarios

For candidates preparing for P_BTPA, one of the most effective study techniques is to invent realistic business scenarios and design solutions around them.

Take a fictional company with SAP S/4HANA, a third-party CRM, an employee portal, several approval processes, and a growing analytics requirement. Decide how the systems should communicate. Determine where identity belongs. Choose an appropriate application-development approach. Think through monitoring, availability, and cost.

Then introduce complications.

What happens if the external CRM goes offline? What happens if the number of users doubles? What happens if sensitive information needs stricter protection? What happens when the business changes the approval process?

These exercises reveal whether you genuinely understand the architecture or are simply recognizing familiar product names.

Prepare With an Architect's Perspective

The strongest preparation does not focus exclusively on remembering service descriptions. It develops the ability to compare architectural choices and explain why one approach is better suited to a particular business requirement.

SAP's learning material repeatedly approaches BTP from the perspective of aligning technology with business objectives, selecting appropriate services, and using reference architectures and decision guides to make sound design choices. 

That is the mindset worth carrying into your preparation. Understand how BTP's capabilities fit together, practice designing solutions around real business problems, and pay attention to security, integration, operations, scalability, and cost—not just functionality.
